Peer Review Process
Journal of Health Promotion and Behavior follows a rigorous double-anonymized peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and impartiality of published research. In this process, both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are concealed throughout the review to maintain objectivity.
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial office to assess its completeness, relevance to the journal’s scope, and adherence to submission guidelines. Manuscripts that pass this initial check are then evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Associate Editor for suitability and originality. If deemed appropriate, the manuscript is assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers.
Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the subject matter of the manuscript. They evaluate the manuscript for scientific soundness, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and significance of the findings. Based on the reviewers' detailed feedback and recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
Authors receiving revision requests are expected to submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response to reviewers’ comments. The revised manuscript may be re-evaluated by the original reviewers or by new reviewers, depending on the nature of the revisions. Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief, who ensures that each manuscript meets the journal’s quality standards before acceptance.
This structured peer review process is designed to uphold the credibility and academic excellence of the journal while fostering constructive feedback and continuous improvement in scientific publishing.
