Authorship Criteria

Journal of Health Promotion and Behavior (JHPB) follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Authors may contribute to one or more roles in the research and manuscript preparation process. However, all individuals listed as authors must meet all four ICMJE authorship criteria:

1.     Make substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.

2.    Draft the manuscript or critically revise it for important intellectual content.

3.    Provide final approval of the version to be published.

4.    Agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

All authors must agree to the final version of the manuscript before submission and publication and accept responsibility for the integrity of the work. Individuals who do not meet all four authorship criteria should not be listed as authors but may be acknowledged for their contributions, with their permission.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors meet the authorship criteria, that all authors have approved the final manuscript, and that all authors agree to take responsibility for the integrity of the work.
